This book covers the varying facets of diverse illness situations, and presents the position of the social worker in relation to the illness. Over 100 social workers in dozens of hospitals were interviewed to give their personal reflections on how they see their role and function, what they describe as the struggles and rewards of their work, and how they serve the hospital, the patient, and the caregiver.
